An eagle-eyed security guard and Alpha Alarms Response members recovered stolen goods from a delivery vehicle after a foot chase on Kathor Road, Isipingo, a short while ago.
Alpha Alarms responded to the scene where the Alpha Alarms client received a delivery for goods and thieves struck by breaking into the delivery vehicle.
It is alleged that the delivery vehicle driver entered the shop and then noticed the suspects at his vehicle. Five suspects broke the lock on the window and gained entry into the vehicle.
They helped themselves to batteries and was spotted by the guard from a neighbouring business. The security guard chased after them with Alpha Alarms Response in quick pursuit. The suspects dropped the goods and fled on foot into the busy taxi rank.
The goods were handed over to the business who was to receive the stock.
Theft out of delivery vehicles is an ongoing problem in Isipingo with many businesses and suppliers suffering the consequences of prowling criminals who grab and run.
