NORTHERN CAPE – A 38-year-old suspect who was sought by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation for the alleged murder of Sergeant Nontombi Hope Manie (39), has been arrested on Tuesday in Kuruman.
The suspect’s pictures were widely circulated on various media platforms recently resulting in the public giving information about his whereabouts. The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit arrested him during a joint operation with the Flying Squad, Kuruman police and the local neighbourhood watch.
Sergeant Manie (39), who was attached to Kuruman SAPS succumbed to her untimely death on 02 March 2019, after she was reportedly stabbed in the neck with a sword at a social event in Surrender Hill after an alleged guests fight broke out.
The accused is expected to appear at the Kuruman Magistrate’s Court today to face a charge of murder.
