POTCHEFSTROOM: Tireless efforts by a team of investigators paid off when two alleged kidnapping suspects, a female and male aged 24 and 45 were apprehended over the weekend in Roodepoort, Gauteng Province.
The suspects’ apprehension came after a case of kidnapping was opened following the alleged kidnapping of a 34-year-old businessman on Monday, 23 September 2019 in Potchefstroom.
It is alleged that after kidnapping the victim, who is a businessman, the suspects called his family to the demanded ransom of approximately R2 million. Nevertheless, the victim was found alive and in a healthy condition in Potchefstroom after the suspects were arrested and no ransom was paid.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
