Renishaw Hills Mackaya Bella Community Centre was filled with supportive community members attending the CANSA lunch on Friday, 4 October.
This well-supported event was organised by the Renishaw Hills Women’s Group – Projects with a Purpose (PWP) – in conjunction with the Renishaw Hills Functions Committee. The PWP members handed over more than 50 prosthetic ‘Knitted Knockers’ to CANSA counsellors, Sharon and Errol Theron, on the day. These prosthetics were knitted by members of PWP over the year and will be donated to breast cancer survivors. The event welcomed Dr Viyonne Longmore as a guest speaker, a well-known local healthcare practitioner who spoke on the subject of ‘breast cancer.
Renishaw Hills, a mature lifestyle village situated in Scottburgh on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, is involved in a number of community and lifestyle-enhancing initiatives such as PWP. For more information about PWP and Renishaw Hills, visit www.renishawhills.co.za.
