Port Elizabeth Flying Squad arrest card scamming suspects

When duty calls for the safety and security of our communities, our men and women in blue, irrespective of the time of day and night will heed to their vocational calling.

On Thursday, 24/10 at about 19:00 a member of PE flying Squad was reporting off duty when information relating to an alleged card scamming was in progress at an ATM in Algoa Park.

The member immediately responded and spotted the suspects fleeing in a white VW Polo TSI. With the assistance of SAPS Kwadwesi members, the vehicle was forced to stop.

Two suspects, both aged 38-year-old were arrested. Cash and 2 cell phones were confiscated. The suspects clothing was also found in the boot of the car.

It is alleged that the suspects scammed two people at the ATM. They were detained on charges of Fraud and possession of suspected stolen property.

They are expected to appear in court soon.
