Two hospitalised following fire at a block of flats in Manor, Pietermaritzburg.

[PINETOWN] - Two injured in alleged home invasion

A man and a woman were left with serious burn wounds this evening when their cooking fire flared out of control at a block of flats in Manor, Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 18h00 to find another service assessing the man and woman.

Medics assessed the patients and found that the man had sustained burns over most of his body while the woman had sustained burns over both her legs.

The patients were treated for their injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known.
