Kimberley K9 continues to clamp down on drug trafficking

NORTHERN CAPE – The tenacity and persistence of Sergeants Ernest Brink, Benjamin Mokotedi, Josef Appie and Constable Masego Makado of the Kimberley K9 led to the seizure of a huge stash of dagga this morning at 11:00 in an unoccupied shack in Diamond Park, Greenpoint in Kimberley.

The team accompanied by the narcotics dog, Eddie arrived at the shack after receiving information about dagga allegedly being stored at the shack.

Eddie reacted positively when he sniffed out the dagga concealed in nine (9) bags covered in black plastic bags as well as two (2) 20 litre paint tins filled with dagga. The street value of the dagga is estimated at a million rand.

According to Brig Nicky Mills, the police will continue to clamp down on drug dealing and squeeze the space for drug dealers to operate.

Brig Bossie Jacobs commended the team for their determination in removing drugs from the streets.

He also urged the community to continue to report crime and to use the MYSAPS APP. All information will be treated confidentially.
