On the night of 12 July 2020 members of Meadowlands SAPS were on duty performing crime prevention duties when they received a complaint of a housebreaking in progress in Meadowlands, Zone 2.
The “scene” turned out to be a woman going into labour. Constable Mafunwaini swiftly reacted to the matter at hand and contacted a friend, a nurse by profession. By following the directions given to her telephonically, Cst Mafunwaini and her colleagues were able to assist with the delivery of a baby boy. Mom & baby were rushed to the Dobsonville clinic where the nurses took over and confirmed the baby is safe and healthy.
