POTCHEFSTROOM – Our efforts towards the fight against drug peddling continue to yield positive results. Police in Potchefstroom arrested two suspects aged 32 and 36 for dealing in drugs (dagga) on Friday, 07 August 2020.
The suspects were arrested at about 10:30 by members of the Potchefstroom Flying Squad. The members were doing a routine patrol when they spotted a suspicious-looking maroon Toyota Corolla on the R501 (Carletonville-Potchefstroom) road driving towards Potchefstroom direction. The vehicle was followed and pulled off for a search. Upon searching the vehicle, the members discovered compressed dagga in the back seat as well as in the boot with an estimated street value of R250 000-00.
The suspects were immediately arrested and their vehicle confiscated. They are expected to appear before the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 August 2020 on a charge of dealing in drugs.
