A man in his twenties was shot in an alleged unprovoked attack on Phoenix Highway outside Gandhi’s Park in Phoenix.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were on patrol in the area when three gunshots were heard. Reaction Officers proceeded to the location and found a man lying on the ground bleeding from the abdomen.
The victim explained that he was shot by a man dressed in black clothing who fled on foot towards Bester. The shooter was carrying a black bag. Pedestrians passing the scene claimed that the injured man was a robber. This could not be confirmed. Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspect however he still remains at large.
The injured man was treated for his injuries on the scene before being transported to the hospital.
