WESTERN CAPE – Efficient policing in Philippi East, Woodstock, and Milnerton by members of the Provincial Integrated Team and local Crime Prevention Units resulted in the arrest of five drug dealers and the seizure of a wide array of drugs last night. The joint operation comprising basic policing tactics such as vehicle checkpoints, random stop and searches, and crime prevention patrols proved successful.
In Philippi East, two suspects were appended for the possession of mandrax and unga with a combined value of R6300-00. Also in Philippi East abandoned dagga with an estimated value of R3300-00 was discovered and seized.
In Woodstock, two suspects were arrested for the possession of tik, mandrax and dagga valued at R5000-00. The highlight of the police intervention was achieved in Du Noon in Milnerton where a suspect was arrested with cocaine, tik, and mandrax with an estimated street value of R233554-00.
These drug dealers are expected to make their court appearances in Athlone and Cape Town once they have been charged. In an unrelated incident, members of the Western Cape Flying Squad arrested a 51-year-old suspect in Worcester for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition during a search at premises. The suspect is expected to face the charge against him tomorrow in the Worcester Magistrate’s court.
