Reportedly drunk driver flees scene of a road crash in Waterloo

The driver of a Hyundai Elantra who was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol fled the scene of an accident leaving two female passengers behind with his vehicle.

At approximately 00:47 this morning (Sunday) members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene and found that a Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra had collided at the Waterloo Spar intersection. The driver of the Hyundai Elantra fled the scene. Two female occupants and the driver of the Toyota Corolla were not injured.

Police were called to the scene and were investigating further.
