Team deployed in Inanda nab man with illegal firearm and stolen vehicle

KWAZULU-NATAL – As a result of on-going conflict and recent taxi-related cases in the Umzinyathi and Inanda areas, a team was deployed to investigate the matter. An operation was then carried out on the night of 26 October 2020 by the team and it reaped good results when Mduduzi Mkhwanazi (42) was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm.

The suspect was arrested at his residence in the Umzinyathi area in Inanda after he was found in possession of a pistol with 16 rounds of ammunition. A further search was also conducted and a vehicle was found parked at the premises.

The preliminary investigation was conducted at the scene and it was established that the vehicle was stolen at Mkhobosa area in Esikhaleni on the night of 10 October 2020.
