Two men caught on a security camera during a house break-in on Camelthorn Place in Trenance Park, Verulam was arrested by members of Reaction Unit South Africa today.
The theft occurred during the early parts of Sunday (08/11/2020) where approximately R20 000 worth of items were stolen. The incident was captured on CCTV.
The homeowner noticed two men matching the description of those in the footage walking on Marula Circle. He contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance. He provided a clothing description of the individuals and the direction they were walking in.
Reaction Officers proceeded to the area and apprehended both men. The suspects informed Reaction Officers that they were from Zwelisha and were walking around the area looking through refuse bags that were left along the roadside for collection.
The homeowner where the break-in occurred arrived on the scene with footage that showed the same suspects on his property on the morning of the theft. The backpacks they were carrying could also be clearly identified in the video.
The two were handed over to the Verulam SAPS.
