Continued efforts to eradicate drug trafficking along the main entrance and exit routes around the Western Cape yielded positive results when Leseko Motloli(26) was sentenced to 8-years-imprisonment at the Beaufort West Magistrates’ court on Thursday, 12 November 2020 following his conviction on a charge of dealing in drugs.
Vigilant members attached to the Western Cape Provincial Detective’s Organized Crime Investigations (OCI) Narcotics section and the Beaufort West Visible policing unit conducted a vehicle checkpoint at Donkin Street, Beaufort West in the early morning hours of Sunday, 15 December 2019 when they stopped a passenger transporting bus. Upon searching the vehicle they found 60 kilograms of dagga with an estimated street value of R120 000 hidden inside. This find was directly linked to Motloli who was a passenger on the bus and he was subsequently arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs.
