A Member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) that was responding to an unrelated call in the Tongaat area in Kwazulu-Natal was flagged down by residents in Flamingo Heights at 00:44 this morning (Monday).
The residents from a block of flats were seeking assistance for a 30 old male who was hacked with a panga during an argument at a local tavern. The victim sustained a deep wound on his head and bodily injuries. The man informed the Reaction Officer that he was sharing drinks with his friend at the tavern when they engaged in a conversation that led to an disagreement. His friend then drew a panga and attacked him. The injured man added that during the attack he had stabbed his friend twice.
Reaction Officers searched for second injured male. He was not located.
