The body of a man was discovered hanging in his bedroom in Stanmore, Phoenix.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene by a friend of the family. On arrival, Medics assessed the man and declared him deceased.
According to the deceased’s brother, he last heard from his sibling who lived alone on Friday (01/01/2021). After several unsuccessful attempts to contact him over the weekend, his brother arrived at his home today but found the doors and windows locked. He spoke to neighbors who also confirmed that they had not seen the 55-year-old in several days.
With a spare key, his brother entered the residence and proceeded to the upstairs bedroom where he found the deceased hanging by a scarf which was tied to a beam above the bedroom door.
He cut the scarf as he could not confirm if his sibling was deceased.
