A 62-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged for vehicle theft after he was found in possession of a vehicle that was reported as stolen at King William’s Town on 24 January 2021.
Tactical Response Team members deployed at Ngcobo and East London VCIU attached at Mount Fletcher area followed information about a stolen vehicle, a White Isuzu KB 280DT bakkie with tampered engine and tags that do not correspond.
On arrival at the home of the suspect, police recovered a White Hyundai H100 bakkie that was fitted with false registration number plate.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Maclear Magistrate’s Court today.
