Two men aged 33 and 43 were arrested by Kuruman Stock Theft Unit for possession of two carcasses of a sheep and goat suspected to have been stolen on Wednesday, 3 February 2021 at about 18:00.
It is reported that members of a security company in Kuruman noticed a white double cab Toyota bakkie on the R31 road between Kuruman and Danielskuil and contacted the police.
After failing to explain where they got the carcasses, the two suspects were arrested. The value of the carcasses is estimated at R3800-00.
The two suspects will appear before the Kuruman Magistrates’ Court soon.
Brigadier Francis Hender, the Acting JTG District Commander applauded the security company for their cooperation in assisting the police in fighting crime. He further commended the Kuruman Stock Theft Unit members for their swift response and as a result of the sound partnership and support from external stakeholders within JTG in the fight against crime, all communities within the District will feel free and safe.
