An operation conducted by the Golela Deployment together with police officers from the Zululand District Task Team has yielded positive results.
The operation which started on 08 March until yesterday in the Bhekuzulu and Louwsberg area netted four suspects aged between 20 and 33 after they were arrested for possession of illegal firearms, possession of dagga as well as possession of ammunition. Three suspects were found in possession of drugs whilst the fourth one was found in possession of a revolver with seven rounds of ammunition. The suspects were found at different homesteads in Bhekuzulu and Louwsberg areas. All the suspects appeared yesterday at various magistrates’ Court.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner for KwaZulu-Natal, Major General Thulani Gonya commended the team for the arrest of the suspects.
