Vehicle crashes through perimeter fence in Mt. Edgecombe

Two occupants of a grey VW Polo were seriously injured after the vehicle they were traveling in crashed into a concrete fence on Hillhead Drive in Mt. Edgecombe.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene. On arrival, the driver of the VW Polo was being treated by a private ambulance service for serious injuries. Her passenger sustained moderate injuries in the accident.

According to a witness, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and collided with a concrete fence. Several empty beer bottles were located in the vehicle however it could not be immediately confirmed if the driver was intoxicated.

The injured were transported to the hospital by ambulance.
