A dog that fell into an uncovered manhole was rescued by a Reaction Officer in Fairbreeze, Tongaat.
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a call at approximately 18:09 from a resident in the area requesting assistance after they made the discovery. On arrival, a Reaction Officer utilised a ladder and descended nearly 2.5 meters into the telecommunications maintenance shaft.
The Officer then freed the canine which was not injured from the fall.
