A man was shot and killed on Chili Road Road in Hambanathi, Tongaat last night.
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Center received multiple calls from residents in the area reporting the shooting. Reaction Officers arrived on the scene and found the Tongaat SAPS in attendance.
The body of a man believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties was discovered near a manhole next to the road. He was shot four times in the chest. He was declared deceased by Paramedics from a private ambulance service. Onlookers confirmed that the deceased was a resident of Hambanathi.
The motive for the murder was not immediately established.
