The SAPS efforts in the fight against drugs in our Districts continued to yield positive results over the weekend.
On Sunday, 18 April 2021 members of the Joe Gqabi District Operational Command Centre received information about a house in which drugs were sold in Aliwal North, Hilton area.
On their arrival at the said address, they found one suspect in the house and while searching the house they found 37and a half Mandrex tablets hidden. The drugs were confiscated.
A 27-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and will appear in the Aliwal North Magistrate Court today.
The same team then proceeded to Burgersdorp to continue with their crime prevention activities.
As they were busy in town they again received information on the possession of drugs at Burgersdorp, Thembisa location.
The members proceeded to the house and upon searching two suspects inside the house they found 36 Mandrex tablets.
The two suspects age 17 and 28 were arrested and the drugs with a street value of R1631-00 were confiscated.
The two suspects will appear in the Burgersdorp magistrate court today.
The acting District Commissioner Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended the members of the JG DOCC on the successes. He also thanked the community for the positive information provided saying that together we can successfully fight the war against drugs.
