Two suspects aged 37 and 44 are due to appear the before Ntuzuma Magistrates Court soon where they will be facing charges of carjacking as well as illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Their arrest follows an incident where a victim was off-loading his stuff for his tuck-shop at Ithendele Road in Ntuzuma yesterday midday. Whilst the victim was off-loading, he was allegedly robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint and the suspects sped off towards M Section in KwaMashu.
Police were immediately alerted and they traced the suspects involved. The KwaMashu Trio Task Team managed to arrest two suspects on Ntuthwane Road in KwaMashu whilst they were attempting to off-load the property from the hijacked vehicle. The suspects were found in possession of two illegal firearms with eleven rounds of ammunition. The suspects will be profiled to establish if they are linked to other serious case reported in Ntuzuma and surrounding areas.
