A wood and iron home and its contents were destroyed in a fire at an informal settlement in Rajkumars, Tongaat.
Residents noticed the home on fire at approximately 07:54 and contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance. On arrival RUSA Members as well as the public contained the fire by dousing it with buckets of water in an attempt to prevent it from spreading to other homes.
The blaze was extinguished by Firefighters on their arrival.
