Funeral parlour owner to appear before court for possession of suspected stolen property

On 15 May 2021, the members from Ulundi detectives together with Visible Policing members arrested a 50-year-old man for possession of the suspected stolen property.

It is alleged by the complainant who is a Manager at a known Funeral Services in Ulundi that on Thursday, 13 May 2021 a known man owning a funeral parlour came to her office and requested to buy a Dome-type coffin at a discount of which was denied.

On the following day in the morning, on arrival at the office, the complainant discovered that the storeroom was broken into.

On checking she discovered that the Dome coffin, green Runner, and two grave Anchor Crosses were missing.

A case was eventually opened at Ulundi police station for further investigation.

After intensive investigation, the stolen items were recovered at the suspect’s offices and he was immediately arrested and taken to Ulundi police station for processing.

The suspect will appear today, 17 May 2021 facing possession of suspected stolen property charges.
