Effective and intense police patrols yielded positive results in Clocolan when two suspects were arrested during a stop and search operation.
On 22 May 2021 at about 18:30, two members were conducting a stop and search operation, when they came across two suspicious-looking persons carrying huge traveling bags on the R708 road near Clocolan filling station.
The bags were searched and police found wrapped black waste plastic bags containing dagga weighing 65 kg to an estimated street value of R65000-00.
The two suspects aged 20 and 30 from Mapoteng in Lesotho who were headed to Marquard were arrested and dagga confiscated.
The two are expected to appear before Clocolan Magistrate court on Monday 24 May 2021 on charges of dealing in dagga and illegal immigrants.
