Automated panic activation leads to injured resident – Ballito

Over the weekend, IPSS Medical Rescues contact centre received an activation from a panic button, originating from a gated estate in Ballito. The activation was triggered by the fall detection function, on the panic button.

Our contact centre attempted to make contact with the panic button holder and residence, without any luck. A vehicle was dispatched to the address and, upon arrival, paramedics ascertained that somebody had indeed fallen and was unable to call for help.

Access to the property was gained and the patient was stabilised and transported to hospital.

The patient was carrying their 24/7 panic button, monitored by IPSS Medical Rescue. The panic button was issued by Risk Sure Insurance Brokers, a specialist risk management group, who entrusts IPSS Medical Rescue to look after their valued clients.

Well done to those involved.
