MasterDrive updates COVID-19 protocols

With almost 500 000 South Africans fully vaccinated, MasterDrive looks forward to a return to normal working conditions in the coming months. Yet, despite these encouraging vaccination statistics, MasterDrive is also aware that we still have some way to go before this return will become a reality.

The majority of people vaccinated thus far are healthcare workers and individuals over the age of 60. Eugene Herbert, the CEO of MasterDrive, explains further: “In a country like South Africa, where we are considered to have a young population, large portions of the workforce still remain vulnerable.

“While we look forward with confidence to improved working environments, it is still important that we do not let the promise of the vaccine roll-out cause one to drop their guard. As such, MasterDrive is stepping up its cleaning and sanitising protocols so as to ensure the safety of its customers and staff.”

These extra measures can be seen in a number of improvements and changes to the COVID-19 protocols. “All protocols remain in place. Additionally, these were recently enhanced with wall-mounted temperature readers at training centres as well as the latest PPE for instructors. Furthermore, the attention given to sanitising work stations, particularly in vehicles, is being increased in frequency and intensity.

“MasterDrive appreciates the importance of individuals, companies and government continuing to work together to prevent further spread of COVID-19, particularly during winter and as we battle the third wave. We have managed to keep a zero-infection rate and, not withstanding some clients being affected, we are still on track to maintain that figure,” says Herbert.
