The efforts of the Flying Squad to create a safer environment for the community led to the arrest of a 35-year-old suspect in Kuilsrivier for the illegal possession of a homemade firearm, also known as a zip gun as well as ammunition.
In an unrelated operation, members of the same unit confiscated two stolen motor vehicles, a Mercedes Benz Viano and a BMW X3 at a residence in Sunset Beach, Milnerton. In one of the vehicles, mandrax were found. The circumstances surrounding the discovery are being investigated and arrests are yet to be made.
