The newly appointed Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape police, Lt Gen Thembisile Patekile welcomed 195 members attached to Lockdown II and addressed them ahead of their deployment in the eight crime generating station precincts in the province.
Lockdown II is an initiative to amplify existing deployments with forces from other provinces to break the back of serious and violent crimes. Lt Gen Patekile told the members that their presence should instil fear in criminals while stamping the authority of the State.
