The Beacon Bay Police are searching for five male suspects’ ages unknown, who invaded a smallholding in the early hours of Monday, 19 July 2021 in Beacon Bay, East London.
Reports suggest that at approximately 00:10 the suspects stormed the smallholding and demanded that the victim open the sliding door. After threatening to shoot him, one of them crashed the window with a crowbar and eventually entered the house demanding money.
The victim is alleged to have tried to fight back but because he was subjected to threats, he was forced to conform. The suspects then ordered the complainant to show them the safe in which there was money. On realizing that he was not alone in the house, the suspects kicked the door and demanded money from the lady inside.
An undisclosed amount of money from her wallet, the complainant’s ID, and passport were robbed. From the safe they took an undisclosed amount of cash, two cell phones worth about R50 000 were also taken.
A case of house robbery has been registered and no arrest has been made at this stage. Investigation continues.
