Copper cable stolen from train station recovered, two suspects arrested

Members were busy with their visible policing when they noticed copper cable beside the road. Two suspects were arrested. Members were applauded for a job well done.

On the 18 July 2021 at about 05:00, members of Brandfort Visible Policing were busy with their vehicle patrol when they noticed copper cable beside the road.

They came closer to investigate and an unknown suspect jumped from the grass close by. He tried to flee but members managed to arrest him. On further investigation, the second suspect was spotted at a hiking spot towards Vryheid. He was arrested and connected with the loot. The two suspects are aged 24 and 30 years old. The copper cable to the estimated value of R150 000-00 was confiscated. They are facing a charge of possession of suspected stolen copper cables stolen at Alleman train station.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Baile Motswenyane applauded these Brandfort SAPS members for their dedication.
