The Police in Lulekani outside Phalaborwa in Mopani District joined hands with Lulekani Assemblies of God church on 23 July 2021 and celebrated Mandela month by reaching out to needy communities in the area.
The event was led by Social Crime Prevention Coordinators Sergeant Nomvela, Sergeant Makhubele, Sector 2 Commander, Station Communication Officer Sergeant Mabunda and Constable Nkuna in partnership with Pastor Mogale of Lulekani Assemblies of God.
Thirty (30) identified needy families were helped out with food parcels whereby amongst them was a pensioner living with disability who would be monitored continuously for further engagements.
During this initiative the police members also found an opportunity to use it as an information sharing session and touched on the following topics among others:
* Covid-19 compliance.
* To refrain from parking cars in the bushes.
* Participation in Community Policing strategy.
* Establishment of Street Committees and Neighbourhood watch.
*Prevention of House breaking cases.
Lastly the contact numbers of the Station Commander and the Community Service Centre were shared.
