An 84-year-old grandmother and her 55-year-old sister were robbed at knifepoint by a group of children in Trenance Park – Kwazulu Natal this afternoon.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received the call for assistance. Upon arrival Reaction Officers interviewed the victims who explained that they were returning from a vaccination site after receiving their covid-19 vaccine.
The women further explained that their transport had dropped them off at the Trenance Park Old Phase entrance where they were attacked by eight boys aged approx 9/10 years old. The females were held at knifepoint, assaulted, and robbed of their handbags containing cash, identity documents, vaccination cards & other valuables. They were pushed to the ground and further assaulted.
The women suffered head and facial injuries.
