Vaccination roll out for JCPS cluster personnel

Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has commended the successful roll-out vaccination program for the members of the Justice Crime Prevention and Security Cluster. The Covid19 vaccination roll-out commenced on the 26th to 30th July 2020 in all the districts of the province. Twenty-nine sites were allocated to assist and to prioritise front-liners and admin personnel from all the departments within the Security cluster. Over two thousand traffic officers and admin staff seized the opportunity and got their jabs at the identified sites. The numbers include both Provincial and Municipal traffic officers who have been in the forefront pushing back the numbers against the spread of the deadly pandemic.

The Capricorn District had the highest number of inoculations with over five hundred officials vaccinating in one week.

Department of Transport and Community Safety officers from the Provincial and district offices vaccinated on Friday, led by the acting Head of Department Ms. Jane Mulaudzi and the Acting Chief Director responsible for Transport Regulations, Allen Matsila.

The vaccination of Traffic officers comes two weeks after SAPS had a well-coordinated and successful roll-out in all the districts. MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya says the vaccination of all front-liners who are responsible for compliance is a step in the right direction. The MEC is encouraging everyone who is yet to get their jabs to register or visit their nearest vaccination site.

“I want to thank all our traffic officials, the police, all our members in the Justice Crime Prevention Cluster for heeding the call. When we called and rolled out the vaccination plan they all went out and I want to say to all of you for those who have not vaccinated, please do so because this will help us as we continue with our work and to all our traffic officials and police, you have been in the forefront since Covid19 hit our shores and I want to say thank you”
