Police members committed to fulfilling their mandate, left their mark when they arrested suspects in possession of drugs in the Khayelitsha policing precinct.
Operation Lockdown II members were busy conducting an operation in Khayelitsha on Tuesday 03 August 2021, at about 17:00, the members received a tipoff and immediately pursued the information. The convoy proceeded to an informal settlement and search a shack as identified by the informant where a consignment of Methamphetamine and Dagga was confiscated.
In an unrelated incident, Harare police acted on information earlier today, Wednesday 04 August 2021, and approached a residence in 39 blocks Makhaza in Khayelitsha. Upon searching the premises a total of 160 Mandrax tablets, and 8 parcels of dagga were confiscated
Meanwhile at about 09:30 the convoy made their way to a house in Enkanini informal settlement in Khayelitsha. The members started searching the premises and confiscated dagga worth an estimated street value of R10 000-00. A 33-year-old female was arrested and detained.
Once charged the suspects, are expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court on charges of illegal possession of drugs.
