Xolisile Collen Hadebe (43) appeared before the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court on 10 August 2021, after he was arrested by members of the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team and the Middelburg detectives on Friday, 06 August 2021 for a cross-pavement robbery outside Roots butchery in Middelburg.
It is alleged that on Friday, 06 August 2021 at about 16:10 the group of four armed men accosted a security guard just after he collected cash. The suspects robbed the security guard of an undisclosed amount of money and disarmed him of his pistol before they fled the scene.
Hadebe was arrested in the vicinity of the shopping complex. A 9mm pistol with the erased serial number was recovered from him. He has since appeared in court and the case was remanded to 17 August 2021 for a formal bail application.
