The immediate response by police members, responding to the unnatural behavior of a suspect, led to the arrest of a man in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and presumed stolen property
On Monday, 09 August 2021 at about 17:40, members of Lockdown II were busy with stop and search operations in Leiden, Delft, when they spotted a man in front of a house in Leiden Avenue. When he saw the police members he walked into nearby premises and in full view of police members dropped an object as he tried to flee the scene. The unknown man, wearing a backpack, was brought under control. A 9mm pistol and ammunition and a car amplifier and speakers were recovered.
The 25-year-old man was arrested and detained and made a court appearance in the Blue Downs court today, 11 August 2021, on the mentioned charges.
