Provincial Commissioner condemns shooting incidents where a woman was allegedly murdered by her partner meanwhile in a separate incident another was shot and injured allegedly by her partner as well

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has strongly condemned two domestic violence-related incidents, in which a 30-year-old woman was murdered allegedly by her partner whilst in another separate incident a woman, aged 32, is fighting for her life after allegedly being shot by her partner as well. The murder incident is said to have occurred in the early hours of, Sunday 15 August 2021 at Acornhoek near Bushbuckridge whilst the attempted murder took place at Newington C, in Mhala, on Saturday 14 August 2021.

According to the information at police disposal, the SAPS members at Acornhoek as well as the paramedics were notified about a shooting incident at Buffelshoek Trust. Upon their arrival at the scene, they found a woman lying in bed with some injuries on her upper body and bleeding profusely. The woman was certified dead by the medical team and police opened a murder case where they immediately began with their probe. A manhunt has been launched for the suspect.

The police request Mr. Appearance Ndlovu to come forward as they believe he can positively assist in the investigation.

Meanwhile, members of the South African Police Service at Mhala are investigating a case of attempted murder as well as an inquest. This comes after allegations emerged that a 36-year-old man allegedly shot and injured his female partner on Saturday, 14 August 2021. It is further reported that the man then turned the gun on himself.

The authorities were notified about this shooting incident and upon arrival, the medical personnel certified the man dead while the woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Police opened the two cases accordingly. This incident occurred at Newington Trust C, near Bushbuckrige.
