Kagiso police special operation which incorporated the Westrand District Cash in Transit (CIT) Unit, pounced at the suspect’s residences at Tshepisong phase 7 this morning as they followed information.
After receiving information of a suspect who was in possession of an unlicensed firearm and had been evading arrest for more than a week, they threw their net at the right time and cornered him. His apprehension led to further four arrests of his accomplices for possession of eight suspected stolen cell phones, a Mecer laptop, drugs (crystal meth), a fully loaded 9mm magazine, 17x rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a firearm.
Brigadier Themba Maduna of Kagiso police applauded the member’s sterling job and extra efforts that led to linkages and successful arrests of five suspects. “Perpetrators of violent crimes, crimes directed at vulnerable groups and any other crimes, must expect war as we will not negotiate crime and no stone will be left unturned. If you so crime, we will breathe on your neck and you must pay the price”, he concluded.
All five suspects, aged between 21 and 34 will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
