A 31-year-old man was arrested by members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) after he broke into a house on Ireland Street in Verulam, KZN.
Reaction Officers received a tip-off that the suspect was seen gaining entry to the residence via the rear of the property. Officers proceeded to the location and noticed the rear security gate forced open. RUSA Members penetrated the home and located the suspect in one of the bedrooms. The suspect was immediately restrained.
During an interview he confirmed in 2017 he was sentenced to five years in prison for a case of attempted murder. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison of which he served one year after he repeatedly stabbed a relative during an argument in 2017.
The Inanda, KZN resident is currently detained at the Verulam SAPS.
