A murder suspect is in police custody following the murder of a 22-year-old man during the early hours of this morning.
It is alleged that just after midnight, police were summoned to a complaint of murder after a man was found in the street in Bersheba area in Kirkwood allegedly hacked to death with a panga. The deceased, who has been identified, sustained injuries in the upper body. It is further alleged that the two men were embroiled in a violent confrontation. The panga was seized as an exhibit in the investigation.
The suspect (28) was arrested on a charge of murder and is expected to appear in the Kirkwood Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 25 August 2021.
