It’s that time of the year again and matriculants have to write their final examinations. During this time, many students may start to feel anxious, scared and stressed. These feelings can be expected for most but may take a toll on some students if they are not able to manage these feelings properly. With time ticking by quickly and the anxiety rising, it is important that students look after their mental health before and during the exam period as feelings of stress and anxiety can negatively impact the overall well-being of a student.
The Covid-19 pandemic has definitely been difficult for students as they had to adapt quickly to new ways of learning and learning environments and often times, having to deal with chores and family dynamics while trying to learn. These challenges times have not only impacted learners but teachers as well. All these factors can lead to students feeling scared and frightened to write their exams.
As part of SADAG’S efforts to prepare and help students before final exams this year, SADAG is hosting a Facebook Friday Live Q&A Session on the 3rd of September between 1pm -2pm.
Experts from this week’s Live Facebook Session discuss tips, tools and coping mechanisms that students can use to help them manage more effectively with the stressors related to exams. They will also be unpacking how to manage all these feelings and how students can mentally prepare themselves for exams.
