Seven suspects apprehended in Rondebosch for business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm with ammunition

Seven suspects between the ages of 20 and 30 are expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 4 October 2021 following their arrest on Friday afternoon, 2 October 2021 in Rondebosch for possession of unlicensed firearm and being linked to a business robbery in Tableview.

Rondebosch police were alerted of two vehicles in their area whose occupants were acting suspiciously. They pursued the vehicles and on Milner Road they stopped the vehicles. In one vehicle they arrested five suspects and recovered an unlicensed firearm with ammunition. In the second vehicle, fitting the description of a vehicle used in a business robbery perpetrated in Tableview on Thursday, 30 September 2021, Rondebosch police arrested two other suspects.

Whether the suspects could be linked to other crime incidents will be determined as investigations unfold.

The arrested suspects are currently facing possession of an unlicensed firearm with ammunition as well as armed robbery charges.
