In an effort to fight property-related crime, the police in Johannesburg Central arrested a woman subsequent to being found in possession of suspected stolen goods.
On 06 October 2021, the K9 Unit in Johannesburg Central received information about a bus transporting suspected stolen motorbikes out of the country. The information was promptly operationalised and the members activated patrols at the vicinity of the bus depot.
While patrolling, the luggage fitting the given description was spotted at the depot. Upon searching, members discovered stripped motorbike parts and the woman found at the depot called an unknown man to send her R1000-00 which she used in an attempt to bribe the police.
She was arrested and is expected to appear before Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon on charges of possession of the suspected stolen property and bribing a police official.
