Man stabbed during altercation in Verulam

A 26-year-old male was seriously injured after he was stabbed in the chest during an argument with a group of men in the Verulam CBD.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called to the Verulam taxi rank on Ireland Street at approximately 17:56. On arrival, it was established that the man was stabbed at a different location but managed to walk to the taxi rank where he collapsed. He was allegedly involved in an argument with a group of individuals who accused him of being an accomplice in a robbery in Canelands, KZN. An altercation broke out when he was stabbed.

The man was stabilised on the scene before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.
