Peacock stolen by drug addicts is recovered

A peacock that was stolen by two drug addicts was recovered on Todd Street in Verulam this morning (Friday).

A passerby contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 09:47 after he noticed the two men selling a peacock to the occupants of a white VW Golf GTI. Reaction Officers responded to the call and on arrival located the peacock on the back seat of the vehicle (picture 5). Its legs were bound by a piece of material. According to the driver of the car, he had paid the two individuals R300. The suspects had removed the feathers from the bird which they intended on selling separately.

They informed Reaction Officers that the proceeds of the sale were to be used to purchase Heroine.
