Resident attacked with iron pipe in Brindhaven

A 29-year-old Brindhaven – Verulam resident was attacked with an iron pipe by a lone Housebreaking suspect.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called out to a home/business premises on Glenhaven Drive at 10:49. Reaction Officers arrived on the scene and found male bleeding from a wound to his head.

The man informed officers that he was attacked by a male attired in a grey hoodie and black pants. The suspect was gaining entry into a home when the victim attempted to stop him. The suspect grabbed an iron pipe and attacked the resident and fled on foot. The pipe was recovered outside the premises. Paramedics were called to the scene and attended to the injured man.

According to the victims’ family, a female was attacked and her hand cut open in the same vicinity earlier this week.
